Joseph Hanson, MD, FAAD

Dr. Joseph Hanson joined the staff of Tennessee River Dermatology in 2004. He specializes in cutaneous surgery, cosmetic dermatology and management and treatment of inflammatory dermatoses.

Dr. Hanson graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Alabama, where he was awarded the Academic Achievement Award in General Biology. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. He performed his internship at Baptist Health System in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Hanson completed his residency at the University of Tennessee at Memphis Dermatology Program. He is licensed to practice medicine in Alabama.

Dr. Hanson is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has been involved in dermatologic research and has been published.

My experience at this office was very pleasant from the place I checked in, the receptionist were friendly, the Nurses who called me back to see Dr Hanson were very professional yet quite down to earth and very calming to make me as a patient feel comfortable. When the Doctor came in he was friendly and very tuned in to what my needs were and got right to the work on what I needed done and made every effort to see that the procedure was as painless as possible and checked while he was working asking frequently if I was doing alright! I would highly recommend this office.
